Let’s talk about ranch dressing.

Not the bottle in the fridge door with the questionable shelf life… but homemade, real-deal ranch. The kind you mix in a bowl while a baby clings to your leg and someone else is asking for a snack they just had. The kind that makes you want to put it on everything.

It’s creamy and cool, with a punch of garlic, a whisper of dill, and a whole lot of love. We drizzle it on garden lettuce, dunk our pizza crusts. Why yes, I did do this last night as we enjoyed Shadd’s birthday meal. He chose homemade pizza, salad and corn on the cob.

Making it feels like a small rebellion—choosing flavor over convenience, and delight over default. However, once you realize how simple it is to make your own salad dressings, you know it’s not really a convenience. Not to mention, no seed oils or other junk in it!

If you’re looking for a little dose of kitchen joy this week, this ranch is a delicious & simple place to start.

**If you want to add more protein to this, sometimes I will sneak in a few tablespoons of cottage cheese. No one will ever know!
